Sir Cliff Richard reveals prostate cancer diagnosis

Sir Cliff Richard has revealed that he has been diagnosed with prostate cancer.
The legendary singer-songwriter told ITV's Good Morning Britain that the disease was spotted during a routine health check before a planned tour.

"I was going to Australia and to New Zealand and the promoter said, 'Well we need your insurance, so you need to be checked up for something'," Sir Cliff said.
"They found that I had... prostate cancer. The good fortune was that it was not very old, and the other thing is that it had not metastasized.

"It hadn't moved, nothing into bones or anything like that."
He argued that there should be a national screening programme for the disease and added: "We all deserve to have the same ability to have a test and then start treatments really early.
"It seems to me - I've only been for one year now in touch with cancer, but every time I've talked with anybody, this has come up and so I think our government must listen to us."
Sir Cliff celebrated his 85th birthday earlier this year and released his last studio album Cliff with Strings – My Kinda Life in 2023.
He has continued to perform live in recent years, and after playing Australia and New Zealand legs of his Can't Stop Me Now tour in November 2025, he returned to the UK for a clutch of major dates.
The jaunt culminated in two career-spanning concerts at London's Royal Albert Hall.
The 24-song setlist opening with his debut single 'Move It' and closing with an encore of his 1977 hit 'My Kinda Life'.
