Sir Rod Stewart achieved his 10th number one album this week, when his You're In My Heart compilation climbed to the top spot.
In doing so, he has become the oldest male solo artist to score a number one album in the UK at 74 years and 11 months old.
Despite being released two weeks ago, it rose to the top spot in a close race against Robbie Williams and The Who. In the end, there were just 750 sales between the three albums.
Paul Simon was the previous oldest male chart topper, but Rod Stewart has now beaten him by three months. The oldest artist over all is Dame Vera Lynn at 97 years old.
Rod said: "A new government and a new number one for Sir Rod. Thank you once again to my legions of fans who I will never take for granted.
"Bless you all and a Merry Christmas. Well done Robbie, well done Boris, no hard feelings Pete Townshend!"
His latest album is an orchestral compilation, featuring new versions of his classic tracks, such as 'Sailing' and 'I Don't Want to Talk About It', alongside the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra.
The Who's Roger Daltrey and Pete Townshend were on course to the top the album chart this week, but their new album Who entered a three behind Rod and Robbie.
