The Rolling Stones have us speaking in tongues with their upcoming new release.
While The Rolling Stones kept touring and popped out a covers album, the gap between A Bigger Bang and Hackney Diamonds was a whopping 18 years.
But as suggested when the latter was released, fans aren't going to have to wait nearly as long for a follow-up.
The band have been teasing the release since its predecessor emerged in 2023 and earlier this month snuck out lead single 'Rough and Twisted' as a limited edition vinyl credited to The Cockroaches.
That was the same pseudonym the Stones used at the El Mocambo in Canada back in 1977, and hints and posts on the group's social media channels soon confirmed who the song was really by.
Now, an international poster campaign has seemingly confirmed the album name.
Well, almost. There's no English language version of the poster anywhere to be seen, so we're stuck with a potential problem of translation.
And that's appropriate, because the expression on those posters is FREMMEDE SPROG, DAYHUHANG DILA, VREEMD TONGEN, LING STRANIERE, LINGUAS ESTRANGEIRAS...
Which if we're going to put it into English, is likely to be Foreign Tongues.
The Rolling Stones Tour '24 Hackney Diamonds - Opening Night Houston, TX
Whether it's called Foreign Tongues or otherwise, the Rolling Stones' 25th studio album is said to have been recorded again with Andrew Watt, and due for release this summer.
The Stones are not thought to be planning a full-scale world tour for the record.
While they played some US shows in support of Hackney Diamonds, their last UK shows came back in 2022 when they celebrated their 60th anniversary.
