Jane Asher was Paul McCartney's girlfriend from 1963 to 1968, giving her a ringside seat to Beatlemania that few will have experienced.

The couple even got engaged on Christmas Day in 1967 but the relationship fizzled out and they called things off the following July.

But since then Jane has kept her memories of Paul very much to herself.

And not only has she refused to speak to the makers of the upcoming four Beatles movies, she says that she has no interest in watching them either.

"I decided years ago it would be a blank," Jane told The Daily Telegraph.

"People would offer me money to talk about it, all sorts of things. But I won’t discuss it. It was so long ago.

"[The filmmakers] approached me about it, of course, but I said my usual."

Asked if she knew Sense and Sensibility actor Lucy Boynton, who will play her in the films, Asher replied: "Oh yes, we share an agent.

"Of course, Lucy is beautiful, but I won't watch the films, otherwise everyone will ask me what I thought."

The Beatles—A Four-Film Cinematic Event will be released in April 2028, with four films each focusing on John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison and Ringo Starr.
