The casting of a big name also hints at what time will be covered by the movie.
The Beatles biopics are shaping up to be one of the biggest movie events in recent history, and some signifiant casting news has just emerged.
American-Irish actor Saoirse Ronan will reportedly play Linda McCartney in the four films, which are due for release in April 2028.
While Sony is yet to officially confirm the news, Deadline reports that Ronan has signed the deal to play the photographer, musician and activist.
The then-Linda Eastman met Paul McCartney in 1967 and they married two years later. She recorded the Ram album with her husband and was later a co-founder of Wings.
She was an ever-present in the group alongside Paul and Denny Laine from 1971 until the group's breakup in 1981.
Linda and Paul had four children together – Heather, Mary, Stella, James – and remained married until Linda's death from cancer in 1998 in the age of 56.
The assumption is that Ronan will mainly feature in the Paul McCartney movie of the quartet, but could well also feature in the John Lennon, George Harrison and Ringo Starr films.
While the magic of Hollywood means that anyone can play any age, it's probably worth noting that Ronan is currently 31, around the age Linda was during the early years of Wings.
