Jon Bon Jovi and friends are the latest artist to be getting the big screen biopic treatment.
Bon Jovi have, albeit with some lineup changes, been rocking the world for over four decades and counting now.
The band formed in New Jersey in 1983 and have released a whopping 16 studio albums since.
From their hair metal days to continued 1990s mainstream superstardom through their fragmentation, reunions and continued success, there are countless stories to tell about the group.
And some of those will be told in an upcoming biopic, which has just been secured by Universal.
It's early days so we don't know much yet, but read on for all the things we do know, and we'll be updating this article as soon as any more details are confirmed.
The cast hasn't been announced for the Bon Jovi film yet, and it feels like the success or failure of the piece will probably rest on who we get as the main players.
Solid choices for Jon Bon Jovi and Richie Sambora are essentially, while the roles of Alec John Such (RIP), David Bryan and Tico Torres will also be important.
Bon Jovi - Livin' On A Prayer
No director has yet been hired for the film, but it will be written by Cody Brotter, who wrote Killing Satoshi, about the mysterious creator of Bitcoin.
It will be produced by Universal's Jacqueline Garell and Kevin J. Walsh and Gotham Chopra of Religion of Sports.
Thank You, Goodnight: The Bon Jovi Story (Official Trailer)
Well, Bon Jovi (obviously), but at this stage we don't know anything beyond that.
A whole career sweep? Their rise and peak? A special moment? It's all to be announced.
Bon Jovi - Keep The Faith (Official Music Video)
Given that we don't know which period of time will be covered by the film, we also don't know what songs will feature either.
But no matter the scope of the film, we'd be amazed if Livin' on a Prayer', 'Keep The Faith' and 'Always' don't feature one way or another.
Without a cast yet we've no idea if they'll be able to sing (and play?) well enough for the film, but it's definitely in fashion now for actors to sing rather than lip-sync to the original recordings.
