The 'cut-out' outfit was worn on Cher's 2002 Farewell Tour and based on her costume in the 1989 'If I Could Turn Back Time' video.
One of Cher's infamous outfits for 'If I Could Turn Back Time' has been sold for a massive $115,200 (£81,700) at auction, around four times its estimated value.
The costume was sold during a three-day music-themed sale at Julien's Auctions, which saw a glossy red Yamaha Elton John Signature Series C-1 Baby Grand Piano picked up for $150,000 and Prince's 1994 blue Cloud electric guitar go for $281,250.
The listing for the Cher outfit read: "The costume features a figure-hugging shiny black jersey cat suit with mesh filled cutouts and is embellished with constellations of pink and white iridescent glass in metal casing, along with a matching black motorcycle jacket."
Cher - If I Could Turn Back Time (The Farewell Tour)
The Cher costume was based on the controversial original she wore in the 1989 music video shot on the USS Missouri.
So revealing was the outfit, that the video was originally banned by MTV before only being shown after 9pm.
The real-life Navy extras were apparently more than a bit surprised when Cher emerged wearing the outfit and requested a costume change that both Cher and the director declined.
The update by Bob Mackie was worn by Cher on stage when performing 'If I Could Turn Back Time' on her 2002 Farewell Tour.
She also wore it during the 2010 MTV Music Video Awards, when she gave the 'Best Video of the Year' prize to Lady Gaga, who was wearing her own infamous Meat Dress at the time, and again on her 2014 tour.
Cher's last studio album was 2018's ABBA covers collection Dancing Queen.
Last November, she lent her voice to BBC Children In Need's cover of Oasis single 'Stop Crying Your Heart Out'.
