Gilbert O'Sullivan announces new album: Hear single 'Growing Old Disgracefully' now

Gilbert O'Sullivan will be taking his new album on the road this year.

Gilbert O'Sullivan has been a pop presence for over six decades, and he's now announced his 21st studio album.
The award-winning singer-songwriter releases On The Record via BMG on November 6.

It's produced by Andy Wright, who worked with O'Sullivan on 2022's Driven and 2024's Songbook.
The album was laid down quickly, with its 13 songs recorded in just five days at Eastcote Studios in London
On The Record is trailed by the single 'Growing Old Disgracefully', which is available to stream now.
"We have the same musicians," said O'Sullivan of the sessions for the upcoming album.

"They know how I work. I play the song to them on the piano, we rehearse it a few times, and then we do a take. No rocket science involved. Over five days we did thirteen tracks.”
Also featuring on the new album is Andrea Corr, who appears on the duet 'Is That You?'.
O'Sullivan added: “Daring to be different was the key for me. The writing has never stopped being the most important thing.
"Why are we able to keep doing it? You do it because of your love of music. You love what you're hearing.
"You hear the chords of Burt Bacharach? You want that. I’m a rhythm pianist, I can't tinkle the ivories, but we have the ability to write music because we love what we hear.”
O'Sullivan supports the album – and celebrates his 60 years in the industry – with the previously announced nationwide tour this autumn.
