Released as a single, the original track itself reached number 13 in the UK charts, taken from Roxy Music’s album of the same name.
Frampton’s reimagined version of the song remains true to Roxy Music’s original arrangement, with Frampton explaining: “The original is such a perfect piece of music.
“I really wanted to get as close to the vocal inflection as I could, and I think I almost did it! It’s a sexy kind of guitar sound, like Bryan Ferry’s vocal, and I’m very proud of it.”
The release follows on from an enchanting cover of Radiohead’s ‘Reckoner’ which also features on his upcoming instrumental album ‘Frampton Forgets the Words’, out 23rd April.
Featured tracks include covers from artists that Frampton has both collaborated with and admired, including David Bowie and George Harrison.
“This album is a collection of ten of my favourite pieces of music.” Frampton said.
“My guitar is also a voice and I have always enjoyed playing my favourite vocal lines that we all know and love. These tracks are my great band and me paying tribute to the original creators of this wonderful music. So much fun to do and I really hope you enjoy it too.”
Following up from his Grammy award-winning instrumental LP Fingerprints, the album is highly anticipated, and expectations are high.
