Phil Collins's representatives brush off social media reports that the singer is in a hospice.
Phil Collins's representatives have reassured fans that reports the pop legend is "on his deathbed" are false.
Completely unsourced rumours had circulated around social media that the Genesis drummer and singer-songwriter was undergoing end-of-life care in a hospice.
Collins's rep told both US website TMZ and The Independent that these reports were fabricated.
Instead, they revealed that Collins had undergone knee surgery in hospital and was recovering from the operation.
Phil Collins has been in poor health for several years after undergoing spinal surgery in 2007, and didn't drum with Genesis for their farewell The Last Domino? Tour, which took place between September 2021 to March 2022.

"I had an MRI and my back and hips were just shot," Collins told Rolling Stone in 2015.
"The doctor had to go in there, work on the sciatic nerve and take my back apart and unscramble the mess."
Collins also suffered sudden hearing loss in 2000 following a viral infection, which was mainly resolved within a couple of years.
The singer-songwriter has long battled rumours of his supposed demise, calling his 2016 autobiography Not Dead Yet, and naming his live jaunt the following year the Not Dead Yet Tour.
Earlier this year, Collins told Mojo of his apparent retirement from music: "I keep thinking I should go downstairs to the studio and see what happens.
"But I’m not hungry for it anymore. The thing is, I've been sick, I mean very sick…"
