Neil Finn is probably best known as being a founding member and ever-present in Crowded House, the New Zealand alternative rock band who scored a load of major hits in the 1980s and beyond.

His brother briefly Tim joined the group for their third Woodface album and co-wrote the absolutely massive singles 'Weather With You' and 'It's Only Natural'.

But long before his short stint in Crowded House, Tim Finn founded new wave band Split Enz in 1972.

Brother Neil joined that group in 1977, in time for their third album Dizrythmia. Both Finn brothers stayed in the lineup until 1984, when Tim left his own band. That meant Neil taking the reins for the group's swansong See Ya' Round before their split later that year.

Since then, Split Enz have reformed a number of times, either for one-off shows or tours, with their last concert taking place in Australia in 2009.

Earlier this year, the group announced that they would reunite in 2026 to play the Electric Avenue Festival in Christchurch in their native New Zealand.

"It feels like the time is right to play these songs again," said Tim.

"We eagerly await the chance to create a memorable experience for the people of Christchurch Otautahi and beyond."

They have now announced the Forever Enz tour, taking in a number Australian shows a few months after their homeland comeback.

The band have not yet announced any dates further afield.

Split Enz have also announced the impending release of a two-part compilation that covers their whole career.

"We’ve been gathering all the loose enz to prepare and present...ENZYCLOPEDIA:Volumes One & Two due November 14th 2025," the band said.
