Suzi Quatro reveals who she'd like to play her in upcoming biopic

Suzi Quatro is finally getting the biopic treatment - but who will play the rock legend?

Suzi Quatro has revealed that she is working on a movie about her life.

The 'Can the Can' chart-topper has told The Guardian that, after the success of 2019's documentary Suzie Q, the biopic project is now in the works.

"We're working on that right now, we’re doing the screenplay as we speak," Quatro said, when quizzed on who could play her in such a movie.

"Scarlett Johansson springs to mind. But whoever plays me, I would have to meet them, because I would need to feel something that you can’t act, and that's the Suzi Quatro vibe.

"Don't ask me to explain it but I would have to feel they have that vibe about them."

Johansson, who is currently 41, would be an interesting choice for Quatro, who broke through with her first hits when she was 23.

Scarlett does have some musical experience though, having released the Tom Waits covers album Anywhere I Lay My Head in 2008 and Pete Yorn collaboration Break Up in 2009. She and Yorn reunited in 2018 for the Apart EP.

In the same interview, Quatro expressed surprise that she hadn't yet been inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

"It is absolutely crazy. It used to bother me but now I've read up on lots of people who aren't in it, and I'm in good company!" she said.

"I always thought it was a no-brainer, because there was never a woman playing an instrument in a rock 'n' roll band with world success before me.

"I just hope they’re not waiting for me to die so they can do it posthumously."
