Yusuf/Cat Stevens has released a re-imagined version of his 70’s classic anthem 'Where Do The Children Play?' today.
The singer gave fans a first glimpse into the forthcoming album Tea for the Tillerman², which is due out on September 18.
Exactly 50 years on from the release of Tea for the Tillerman, the 1970 multi-platinum selling album that made Yusuf/Cat Stevens a star, the singer is set to release Tea for the Tillerman².
Written more than half a century ago, 'Where Do The Children Play?' still stands strong today as a song warning against global mismanagement, scientific and economic recklessness.
Yusuf re-recorded the original 11 songs for a new age, which promises "dramatic results".
The album was recorded at Studio La Fabrique in the south of France, with the whole recording also filmed.
Commenting on the new song release, Yusuf/Cat Stevens said: “Looking at the world today and the message in this fifty-year-old song, it looks like the world never grew up.”
